Kemp Mill Swim Club Swim Lessons 2026

Lessons Information:

The lessons schedule is updated on a weekly basis throughout the summer based on instructor availability. We will continue to add more lessons slots throughout the summer, as they become available.

Lessons are $30 for a single-person lesson and $45 for a two-person lesson (both swimmers must be at the same skill level/age range). All sessions are 30 minutes long.

You must be a current member of the Kemp Mill Swim Club to sign up for lessons (lessons are open to trial members only during the dates when their membership is active).

Atara Parness will be giving lessons this year, along with coordinating our Lessons program. Thomas Shelton will also be giving lessons this year.

Payment must be made at the time of the lesson in cash, via check (made out to the instructor), or via electronic payment (if the instructor accepts electronic payments).

Lessons Instructor: Thomas Shelton

Thomas Shelton will return this summer as a swim instructor. Thomas has been a member of the Kemp Mill Kangaroos coaching staff for the past two years and was a member of the team for 8 years, where he fostered a love of swimming and coaching. He has experience with coaching swimmers of all levels and ages, whether they are just learning to float or have competed for several years. He currently attends Swarthmore College, where he fences sabre and captains the rugby team. He is currently pursuing a B.S. in engineering and a B.A. in theater. When not coaching, Thomas can be found making loud, barely coherent sounds with his band Arrogance, learning cool facts about the world, or rooting for Ireland rugby. Please note: Due to injury, Thomas will be unable to enter the water at the beginning of the summer and will have reduced availability during the duration of the summer because of recovery. His availability will increase as he progresses through his recovery.
